The Highveld Ridge lies in the south western region of Mpumalanga and takes in the towns of Standerton, Bethal, Trichardt, Secunda, Evander, Leandra and Delmas. The surrounding area features open grassland, vleis and low hills, and is a major agricultural production centre. Although the town does not have the normal entertainment that city dwellers have become accustomed to it does have its own attractions. Residents can drive to and from work within in about 10 minutes. Play a game of golf on any of five courses situated within a 40 km radius of the town. The Johannes Stegman theatre in the center of town regularly offers top class shows and local school activities. The central business district has become a regional shopping centre and attracts many shoppers from other towns in the region.
