For over 30 years, we’ve been committed to selling property and serving people. We currently have close on 200 franchises and more than 1000 qualified Sales Partners across South Africa.
Our goal is to sell your property at the right price and in the shortest possible time.
You’ll notice we don’t use the language of ‘estate agents’ when talking about our sales staff. We call them ‘Sales Partners’ - because we believe it’s their job to partner with you to achieve your unique goals in selling your home.
Each of our Sales Partners is an area specialist and builds up a database of qualified buyers. We might already know your buyer.
Many of our buyers have been pre-qualified by our in-house origination division, Rawson Finance - they’ll even have a unique Pre-Qualification Certificate to prove it. This means that we don’t waste your precious time with unreliable offers.
Buyer referrals across our 200 franchises are processed by our referrals center every day. We work hard to keep the information flowing.
Before marketing your property, we’ll meet with you and listen carefully to your needs. We’ll then develop a marketing plan tailor-made to suit your requirements.
We’ll give your property its place in the sun. The Rawson website, leading property portals and social media are all part of our online mix aimed at giving your property the exposure it deserves.
We routinely feature property in SA’s leading national and community newspapers, property magazines and editorials. Just another medium for creating a following.
Our Sales Partner will introduce potential buyers to your property through arranged viewings and professional show days, ensuring quality showcasing and appreciation of your property. We’ll work hard behind the scenes to make it happen.
DSTV promotions, property expos and portfolio brochures help us to turn up the heat in the search for new buyers. We leave no stone unturned in pursuit of buyers.
Your Sales Partner will guide you through every step in the selling process. Selling your property is a ‘big deal’ - experience and expertise can make a big difference.
We’re one of only a few property groups with our own dedicated Training Academy aimed at equipping our Sales Partners to succeed with your sale. You can be certain your Sales Partner has passed our compulsory Rawson Proficiency Course.
Our Sales Partners have passed the compulsory training exams to comply with industry regulations. We’re also a members of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (IEASA). So you can rest assured.
Rawson is one of the only national real estate brands offering the service of bond origination in-house.More about Rawson Finance
This means that our buyers can get access to our unique Pre-Qualification Certificate at no charge - which gives you, as a seller, peace of mind when considering offers. In addition, with greater control over finance matters, we’ll do our best to ensure your buyer’s finance is approved. We're proud to say that our bond approval rates are above the national average for originators.
We’ll conduct a personal, in-depth valuation of your property to help guide you as to the right selling price. We don’t take this lightly as pricing your property right is critical.
A step by step guide to selling your property
How should I determine my asking price?
The simplest way to set your asking price is to ask an estate agency for a written "comparative market analysis". Our home selling tip is that this should be free of charge and it will not commit you to appointing the estate agency to sell your property for you. You can ask more than one estate agency for a comparative market analysis, but you should find that they all present you with similar figures. If any estate agency gives you a price that is markedly higher than the rest, be suspicious: it may be a ploy to persuade you to give it a sole mandate. Click here to request a Rawson valuation.
How long will it take to sell my property?
It can take days, weeks or even months, depending on factors such as the accuracy of your pricing, your flexibility to allow for viewings or show-houses and the marketability of your property."comparative market analysis". Our home selling tip is that this should be free of charge and it will not commit you to appointing the estate agency to sell your property for you. What commission should I pay in the event of a sale?
Naturally, you will pay the estate agent (at Rawson we call them ‘Sales Partners’) a commission for selling your property for you. There is no prescribed commission rate in South Africa. Every commission must be negotiated between the seller and the estate agency. However, at Rawson we recommend a rate of 7.5% plus VAT as this empowers the estate agent to invest reasonable marketing funds towards the sale. Commission is normally paid only after ownership of the property has officially been transferred into the buyer's name.
Besides commission, what other costs are involved when selling a property?
*The cost of Beetle and Electrical Certificates - which should be obtained before the property is transferred.
*Bond cancellation - The seller must pay up the balance of the existing bond on the property, if any, and/or pay a cancellation fee in respect of the cancellation of the bond.

“I would like to extend a huge thank you to Gordon and his team for all their excellent service and assistance. In just 3 months, the team sold my flat, which had been on the market for a year and their weekly updates and service during show houses was warm and professional. Rawson's Glenwood were also the agents who invested the most time and effort in assisting me in finding a rental property. When I decide to buy again, I will definitely approach this team, as they actually listened to what my requirements were, and did their best to deliver those.”
“You often hear bad reports from estate agents who deliver bad service, so I wanted to report on the excellent experience I had with mine. Emma and Gert Venter are agents with the Durbanville franchise of Rawson and from the first phone call to the viewing and negotiations, the service I received (mainly from Emma) was friendly, prompt and made the entire experience a pleasure. I'm now in my new house and very happy. I highly recommend these agents and will most certainly be contacting them the day I look to move on - hopefully not too soon!”
“I would just like to say the service I received for the sale of my apartment in Sea Point through Rawsons was outstanding. Agent Ryan Hamburger delivered honest and efficient service and obtained two offers within two days for my apartment, one at the asking price. Good, honest agents are hard to come by - I highly recommend Ryan for his efficiency and honesty.”
“A word of thanks to Michele Pecorelli and the team at Rawson Blaauwberg for going the extra mile and assisting us not only to secure a wonderful property investment but also involve herself in spectacular follow-up service beyond the call of duty of a normal estate agent to purchaser relationship. I can truly recommend Michele and the team for all your property selling and purchasing requirements.”
